Memory Care Reviews for Pacifica Senior Living Victoria Court
February 25, 2022
By MabelI visited this facility
Pacifica Senior Living Victoria Court is a nice place. It was a very good fit for my mom and everybody there was very caring and very friendly. When I visited, the residents seemed to be very comfortable and they had their own space with some people playing bingo. What's nice about it is that they're qualified or certified for an additional level of care. They have extra licenses to have an extra level of care. The facility looks really clean too and very easy to get to. They looked like they had a lot of space and the structure seemed pleasant for the seniors. In the spring, they seem to have a nice outdoor court where the seniors can go. It's a full-time memory care and the staff, from what I've seen, was very friendly. They're also very reasonably priced.

My mother has thrived during her 6 months at Pacifica Victoria Court. I was impressed at how caring the staff was at my first meeting with them. I continue to be happy with their level of care and efforts to provide enrichment and stimulation for the residents.

My mom has been in Pacifica Senior Living Victoria Court. It's a hundred percent memory care facility. She looks much better than she did, and she's actually very happy being there. The staff is also amazing. They're very caring and they actually checked my mom in at midnight. I don't think many places would do that. In fact, the rehab center where my mom was said that there's no way for them to check her that late at night, but Pacifica Senior Living Victoria Court did, and they were excellent. She said the food is delicious too, and she's always in an activity. She made a bracelet and plays cards. They also have bingo and manicure Mondays.

I would do nothing but recommend Pacifica Senior Living Victoria Court. My wife is happy and smiling there. The only problem we have, and everybody has, is that we can't go inside to visit or make an appointment, and that's not Pacifica's fault. The staff is professional and is what you could hope for in a medical facility for this purpose. They're excellent. It's very clean, well arranged, and not cluttered.

STAY AWAY! I put my Mom here and she was dead in less than two months. I saw her the Monday of the week she died & when I left I said to myself she's going to live till 100! That Wednesday she was fatigued & not eating. She was seen by their doctor, blood tests were requested, one of their aids asked my Mom if she needed to go to the hospital, AND NOT ONE OF THEIR FIVE STAFF WHO KNEW MY LEGALLY BLIND MOTHER WITH DEMENTIA WAS NOT WELL CALLED ME. My Mom died Thursday night. Had they had the courtesy to call me I would have been there immediately. Their excuse is that she said she was fine - well my Mom was not a complainer & she would have been very scared at the thought of going to the hospital without her daughter. Also, since my Mom had only lived there less than 2 months you think they'd call since they weren't that familiar with her habits. Their staff lied to the RI DOH when I requested an investigation - the woman at the front desk who claimed she sang with my Mom & loved my Mom told the DOH that she was not familiar with my Mom. Shame on these people! STAY AWAY!!
Provider Response
We want to offer our deepest sympathies for the unexpected passing of your mother. We are grateful that you found our care comforting on your Monday visit that showed the health and happiness of someone who would "live to be 100!" Our physician has regular visits to see any resident who is feeling poorly for any reason and if they felt a hospitalization was an option, families are notified immediately. We agree that no person should go to the hospital alone. While we cannot speak to the specifics of your mothers care in a public forum, we do want to share that if the physician or nursing team had concerns or changes in care plan, you would have been immediately notified. Many families find comfort in a loved one passing peacefully in the night without pain. As you shared, the Rhode Island Department of Health found there was no wrong-doing in the natural passing of a resident who had seen the physician hours earlier. As for the concern of dishonesty from the receptionist, please know that our caring team will always spend time singing, talking, or enjoying music together regardless of their role. The front desk staff know our residents by name and interest, but may not be familiar with their personal habits and care needs in the same way of the care team. At Victoria Court, the average resident lives with us more than double the industry average and many times become stabilized enough to return home with in-house support. We pride ourselves on providing a caring, personalized environment and I am sorry you didn't feel that same experience. Thank you again for your time, and we are very sorry for your loss.

I absolutely love Victoria Court where do I even begin! From the moment I walked in to visit a friend at the facility it felt very comfortable, it felt like I was home. I am always greeted with a smiling face and every employee I see is always smiling and welcomes me with a warm hello. You can tell by how every employee interacts with other residents that they actually know them, care for them and love their job! The facility is very nice, clean and well kept. The apartments are a nice size, plenty of room for a larger bed, couch and even a kitchen table. They have a beautiful courtyard with a gazebo that is so private and it's so relaxing to sit outside for some fresh air. My friend loves the activities there, especially the musical guests, bingo and the crafts. The nursing team is amazing and will tend promptly to anything of concern with care. Kudos to the management staff at Victoria Court for a job well done! You all are amazing and very special to not only my friend but to me too!

We chose Pacifica for my in-laws, and they're very happy with it. My wife liked it based on the location, and the service they provide in as far as allowing them to stay together, even though my father-in-law does not have Alzheimer's. We've been to a couple of family cookouts and they have Bingo. They seemed to be satisfied with the different variety of food and three meals are served a day.
